MT. VERNON (WMIX) – Three Mt. Vernon men were arrested Sunday night on charges including mob action after an incident that sent one man to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Jefferson County Court records show 22-year-old Kadin Gulley was formally charged Monday morning with Class 2 felony terrorism threat, Class 1 felony making a false terrorism threat, two counts Class 3 felony communicating or attempting to detain a witness and intimidation, as well as Class 4 felony mob action.

Two others, 21-year-old Caleb Phillips and 21-year-old Jacob Fowler, were each formally charged with Class 4 felony mob action.

According to Mt. Vernon Police Chief Trent Page, officers responded around 6:35 p.m. Sunday to a report of three men beating another man in the 1100 block of South 23rd.

Upon the officers arrival, it was learned the three offenders had left the area. As the officers began checking the area, they reportedly located the three offenders walking nearby.

But as the officers approached the men, Phillips, reportedly began running from officers but was ultimately apprehended and taken into custody.

Gulley and Fowler were located and taken into custody, but Chief Page says as they were being interviewed, Gully reportedly began to yell threats at the victim. The incident appears to have been in retaliation for an earlier event.

The victim was reportedly transported to an area hospital for treatment.

All three men were transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await an appearance in court.
