ANNA – The Union County Sheriff’s Office says a missing male patient from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna has been found and was taken into custody early Tuesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, the patient walked away from Choate over the weekend and was seen on Young Avenue traveling west on foot toward Green Street in Anna.

A report came in Monday saying the man was seen at 2 a.m. Monday walking north in Cobden.

The sheriff’s office asked residents in Anna and the surrounding area to make sure their vehicles and homes were locked and to call the sheriff’s office or 911 if they spotted him.
