NORRIS CITY – A Norris City man wanted for Failure to Appear in Court for Meth Possession out of Saline County was taken into custody Sunday after leading a White County deputy on a pursuit that ended in Hamilton County.

White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss says the deputy went to the home of 41-year-old Jason A. Sanders on Country Road 600 East in Norris City to serve the active warrant.

After knocking on the door, the deputy could hear a male voice state that the cops are here. After receiving no answer at the door, the deputy decided to set up surveillance on the home down the road.

At 11:15 a.m., the deputy saw a black motorcycle drive out on the highway and travel west at speeds of 80 mph. The deputy then activated his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.

The male driving the motorcycle looked back as he was slowing down. The deputy was able to positively identify the male as Sanders. The deputy stopped Sanders on a county road just outside Norris City. The deputy got out of his patrol vehicle and told Sanders he was under arrest. Sanders then fled on the motorcycle with the deputy following him with emergency lights still active through multiple county roads in White County before entering Hamilton County. Sanders then lost control of the motorcycle on County Road 1750 East in Hamilton County. Sanders fled on foot into a wooded area.

The deputy while waiting for assistance from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, saw Sanders exit the woods line without a shirt on. The deputy took Sanders to the White County Jail with no bond set.

Sanders is charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Driving while License Suspended or Revoked, Resisting a Peace Officer, on the Saline County Failure to Appear Warrant.
