MARION – A man is facing gun and drug charges after Marion Police conducted a traffic stop after seeing an SUV conduct multiple traffic infractions in the area of DeYoung Street and Russell Street Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release on the Marion Police Facebook page, while advising the occupants of the vehicle the reason for his presence, an officer could smell the aroma of cannabis emitting from the vehicle. Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle, which revealed methamphetamine paraphernalia and a semi-automatic .380 ACP handgun.

Nineteen-year-old Tehavis Davis, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and issued citations for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Davis was taken to the Williamson County Jail, awaiting his first appearance in court.
