Cam Reveals Battle With Covid-19

Country music star Cam took to Instagram on January 13 to share news of her and her 3-year-old daughter Lucy being Covid positive.

"We got COVID. Had ALL the symptoms - down and out hard for 3 days (not mild at all) and now feels like a cold + fatigue," Cam wrote.

She further adds that she was "scheduled to get the booster" later this week, but with the sudden attack of the virus and the current recommendation of medical experts to wait for at least ten days from contracting the virus, before taking the booster shot, she will have to wait another 2 weeks.

Talking about her three-year-old, Lucy, the country star added, "Worst part is watching Lu get sick. She's had a fever 4 days and has croup now (covid affects everyone differently)."

However, Cam assured her worrying fans that Lucy felt much better after a doctor's visit.

"Made a trip to the doctor and she's looking better," she explained.

Maren Morris Announces New Album 'Humble Quest'

Maren Morris Announces New Album 'Humble Quest'

Country star Maren Morris has announced her new album, Humble Quest, an 11-track follow-up to 2019's Girl, will drop on March 25.

The announcement follows last week's release of the album's first single, "Circles Around This Town."

Morris shared images of the Humble Quest album cover and track list on social media along with a lengthy letter explaining about the album.

"'What do you write about when the show can't go on?'" she wrote. "I think every songwriter in the world had a few months of that question at the beginning of the pandemic."

"For the first time in many years I was not in control. I wasn't in control of the fate of my career, or of taking care of all my people without the promise of touring, or even of my body 'snapping back' after giving birth to my first child," she shared. "To my surprise, I felt not only fear, but a huge sigh of relief when I realized I was never really in control. None of us were. That realization was a brutal and beautifully humbling catharsis of this chapter. I could finally loosen my white-knuckled grip on my fake 'togetherness' and sit with my broken heart for a year."

Meanwhile, Morris is currently nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Song for the single "Better Than We Found It" as well as for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Chasing After You" with her husband Ryan Hurd.

Fox Postpones Premiere Of Country Music Drama Series 'Monarch'

Fox Postpones Premiere Of Country Music Drama Series 'Monarch'

Fox has postponed the premiere of country music drama series "Monarch" until the fall, citing Covid-related impacts on production.

The musical drama, starring Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins, Anna Friel and Beth Ditto as members of the Romans - a dynastic family in the country music world - was scheduled to premiere on January 30.

The pandemic has complicated the production process in Atlanta, media reports say.

"Unfortunately, due to the unavoidable realities of the pandemic and the profound impact COVID-19 continues to have on our industry and around the world, it is necessary to reschedule Monarch's Jan. 30 debut to the fall," Fox Entertainment said in a statement Wednesday.

The network added, "As the cornerstone of Fox's new 2022-23 slate, shifting a show of this magnitude allows us to have its entire first season produced, create additional, high-profile content and promotional windows to support launch, and give our viewers the best opportunity to enjoy the series as intended with a non-compromised run of episodes."

Country Stars React To Racist Tweet Directed At Mickey Guyton

Mickey Guyton, a 38-year-old country music star, was recently a victim of online racism. After she called the abuser out, fellow country music stars came out in support of Guyton, while Twitter has officially banned the offender's account.

Last week, Mickey posted a screenshot of the abusive tweet captioned, "Started off 2022 with a good ole batch of racism. I show you this so you guys continue the fight for equality and love and acceptance."

The tweet said, "We don't want your kind in country music! All you people talk about is your g-d d-m race and skin color! Don't you effers have Rap, Hip Hop & R&B? Gotta ruin and destroy s-t with your woke bs! Just like y'all did with MTV! Get the F out of our country music!"

Her fellow country artists were quick to rally around, with fellow African-American country star Jimmie Allen, saying, "Oh you know. just another Saturday for us. That fact that he took time out of his day to write this while having a video game have his profile pic. He's a joke. Love sis."

"Better Than We Found It" singer Maren Morris and Margo Price reminded the singer that she is "loved".

Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard also chimed in, saying, "If only this person was educated on the history of country music. I'm sorry you have to see this BS. Rise above and keep crushing it. You are loved."

Other artists who took time to silence the racists include The Cadillac Three's Jaren Johnston, Willie Jones, Cassadee Pope, Brittney Spencer, and Aaron Lee Tasjan.

Miranda Lambert's 'The Marfa Tapes' Documentary Coming To Paramount+

A documentary about the making of Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram and Jon Randall's 15-track album The Marfa Tapes will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on January 20.

The Grammy-nominated The Marfa Tapes was recorded during a five-day writing and recording session in the tiny desert town of Marfa, Texas.

The Spencer Peeples-directed documentary features interviews, the three singer-songwriters playing guitar around a campfire, and other behind-the-scenes footage captured during the recording sessions.

"It's scary. It's risky. It's very, very vulnerable," Lambert says in a trailer for the docufilm. "To not have any fixes, to not have any production. To just let the wind blow, and the birds, and the cows, and kinda let it be. I feel like we're taking people on a really raw and intimate journey."

Morgan Wallen Makes Surprise Appearance At Grand Ole Opry

Country music star Morgan Wallen made a surprise appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, January 8.

Wallen made his surprise appearance during rising star Ernest's Opry debut. The pair performed their newly-released duet, "Flower Shops," which dropped on New Year's Eve.

The track is Ernest's debut single on country radio and was co-written along with Ben Burgess and Mark Holman.

This is the first time Wallen has appeared on the Opry stage since his controversial racial slur video emerged last February. Wallen had debuted at the venue in 2017.

After the controversy, Wallen was removed from many country radio playlists, barred from major awards shows, and also had his contract "indefinitely suspended" by his record label.

Meanwhile, Ernest kicked off the evening with his song, "American Rust."
