CROSSVILLE – A head-on crash involving a Jeep and a semi happened shortly before 9:30 Monday morning on Illinois 1 one mile south of Crossville.

According to Illinois State Police, the driver of the Jeep was airlifted to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No word if the semi driver was injured.

The roadway was shut down until around 2:30 p.m. while officers investigated.

ISP says there is no additional information to share at this time.
