CARBONDALE – More arrests have been made in connection with a shooting that happened June 18 in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of East Main Street in Carbondale.

As a result of the initial investigation, 23-year-old Dejuon D. Baltimore of Champaign, was arrested and charged on June 18 with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Officers also arrested 25-year-old Levar D. Woods of Carbondale on June 21 for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Both men were lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Police say since the initial investigation, detectives have continued to investigate related weapons offenses relating to this case. With the help of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, the following arrests have been made:

Twenty-one-year-old Immanuel Salley of Carbondale was arrested and charged on July 7 with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail. Then on July 11, Salley was additionally charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

Also on July 11, 24-year-old Jahmai Salley of Carbondale was arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Forty-year-old Shalisha Massie of Carbondale was arrested by Carbondale Police on July 11 on a on a Jackson County Failure to Appear warrant for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Massie posted the required bail and was released pending court.

On July 14, 21-year-old Fairleigh Ward of Carbondale was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Ward was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Police says thus far in this investigation, a total of eight illegally possessed firearms have been seized including one rifle. Police say their investigation is active and ongoing.
