MARION – Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, in partnership with the Boyton Street Community Center and Connect 360, will host the “Men’s Health Fair on Boyton” on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the Boyton Street Community Center, located at 501 West Boyton Street, in Marion.
Held in honor of Black History Month, the Men’s Health Fair on Boyton is designed to be inclusive for all men, while intentionally addressing health education, resources and disparities that disproportionately impact Black men. The event will provide access to health information, community support and meaningful connections in a welcoming environment.
Deaconess Illinois Clinics and specialty services will be on site offering educational materials and health resources, including a dedicated cardiology table in recognition of American Heart Month. Information will be tailored to address the unique health needs and concerns of Black men while remaining accessible and beneficial to all attendees.
The event will feature:
– Opening remarks by William Davis, Deaconess Illinois Region President
– Deaconess Illinois clinics and specialty departments with educational resources
– Community organizations including Voyage Senior Living, Alpha Home Medical, Centerstone, Shawnee Alliance Senior Services and others
– Delicious food from Luxury Vibes Food Truck, sponsored by Connect 360
– Opportunities for men and families to engage with local health and social service providers
“This event reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are and building healthier communities through education, partnership and trust,” said William Davis, Deaconess Illinois Region President. “Honoring Black History Month means acknowledging the past, addressing present health disparities and empowering men with the knowledge and resources they need to shape a healthier future for themselves, their families and generations to come.”
