MARION – The Marion Police Department recently conducted an operation to ensure the compliance of registered sex offenders living in the city of Marion.
Personnel from the police department’s Crime Suppression, Narcotics, Investigations and Patrol Unit, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal Service, carried out this operation set forth by an initiative through the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.
During this operation, 35 sex offender compliance checks were conducted.
During the compliance checks, 10 sex offenders were in violation of their sex offender registration and two were non-compliant.
These subjects were subsequently arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
Marion Police reinforce to the community that all sexual offenders are closely supervised and their compliance with state law is strictly enforced to maintain safety in Marion.
