MCLEANSBORO – A man wanted in Western Kentucky on charges of Second-degree Rape and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor was recently arrested in McLeansboro.

According to McLeansboro Police, officers were called around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, after a woman requested a welfare check on a family member. She told police she believed a man, identified as Marion Brown, was staying at a home on North Oak Street. Police learned Brown was wanted on an active warrant from Caldwell County, KY, for the charges listed above.

An officer went to the home and identified Brown from outside as he approached the door. Brown tried to flee through an attached garage and into the backyard. The officer pursued Brown on foot down the street and into some heavy brush. Brown was caught and taken into custody after the officer deployed a taser.

Brown was taken to the White County Jail on the warrant. He was also charged with Resisting a Peace Officer.
