CHRISTOPHER – James D. “Danny” Joplin Jr., 76, of Christopher, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday September 13, 2025. His loving wife Debbie was by his side and his beloved dogs, Boomer and Sassy, at their home.

Danny was born on April 4, 1949, to James and Jean (Bigham) Joplin in Benton, IL. He was a retired mine construction worker, Danny married Deborah Lynn Hood on December 27, 1988, and she survives of Christopher.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, and his stepson, Greg (Marci) Hood of Coello, IL; and brother, Mark (Enola) Joplin of New Castle, IN. Danny loved fishing, boating, camping, traveling, especially morning coffee on the deck with his wife and dogs watching the birds and nature in their flower gardens. He loved life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Joplin; two infant sisters, and one brother, Mike Joplin.

Private graveside services will be held at the Mulkeytown Cemetery with his brother Rev. Mark Joplin officiating.
