MT. VERNON (WMIX) – The Mt. Vernon Police Department reported a road rage incident just before 8 Wednesday night that led to a fatal crash on Broadway near the 44th Street intersection in Mt. Vernon.

Police say preliminary investigative details show 47-year-old Jeremy Stader of Indianapolis, IN, was driving in the above mentioned area when a vehicle pulled out in front of him. Stader would strike a traffic light at the aforementioned intersection after deciding to pass the vehicle at a high rate of speed and losing control of his own vehicle. Stader was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The other driver was not injured.
