CARBONDALE – The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) are set to unveil a groundbreaking manufacturing training initiative in Southern Illinois, building on the success of the statewide “Make It In Illinois” campaign.

The launch of the Southern Illinois manufacturing training initiative is set for today at 10 a.m. at Com-Pac International, located at 800 W. Industrial Park Rd., in Carbondale. 

This open community event will showcase the innovative future of Southern Illinois’ manufacturing sector, featuring the exciting “Makers on the Move” mobile showcase. This state-of-the-art bus is designed to highlight modern manufacturing’s high-tech, clean, diverse,  and sustainable nature. The event will also serve as the Southern Illinois launch of the State of Illinois’ new “Make It In Illinois” campaign.

The event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to invite colleagues, friends, and family interested in learning about the exciting job opportunities in modern manufacturing in Southern Illinois.

Weather permitting, the event will be held outdoors at the pavilion in front of the main building. Attendees should park in the main lot and proceed to the event area.
