CARMI – A Flora man has been arrested in connection with a retail theft case in Carmi.

The Carmi Police Department says 26-year-old Michael J. Landreth was charged with Retail Theft. Landreth was taken to the White County Jail where his bail was set at $100. He was able to bond out.

According to a Carmi Police report, on Tuesday, Aug. 22, Dollar General on West Main in Carmi signed a complaint for Retail Theft and Criminal Trespass after Landreth entered the store and stole a power bank. He left the store without paying for it or purchasing any other items.

Police obtained video footage and posted it on social media Wednesday. As a result, Landreth was identified as the suspect.

Later in the evening, Landreth turned himself in at the Carmi Police Department. An interview was conducted and Landreth was later arrested for Retail Theft. He was taken to the White County Jail.
