CARMI – A Mt. Carmel man is facing drug and motor vehicle related charges following a weekend traffic stop in Carmi.

According to a Carmi Police report, a Carmi Police officer made a traffic stop on 21-year-old Kyle J. Windle on Main Street at Rice Motors shortly after 8 Sunday night. The stop was for a taillight violation.

Upon contact with Windle, Windle told the officer that he had a suspended driver’s license.

After verifying the suspended license, Windle was arrested. Upon inventory of the vehicle, cannabis and an open bottle of alcohol was discovered.

Windle was booked into the White County Jail for Driving while Driver’s License Suspended and Possession of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Windle was cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and written warning for the taillight.

Windle’s bond was set at $250. He bonded out around 10:07 Sunday night after paying his bond and a booking fee.
