Carbondale Police, Saluki Athletics Partnering for Annual ‘Coats for Kids’

CARBONDALE – The City of Carbondale Police Department is teaming up again this year with Saluki Athletics for the Annual “Coats for Kids” Drive.

The Coats for Kids initiative is a collaborative effort between the Carbondale Police Department and Saluki Athletics to collect new winter coats for children in Southern Illinois. The donated coats will be distributed by the Carbondale Police Department Community Christmas Store in December.

Fans are encouraged to donate new coats for children ages 1-8. The police department said currently the greatest needs are coat sizes 3T, 5-6, 8-10 and 12-14 for girls and 4-5, 7-8, 8-10 and 12-14 for boys.

Saluki Athletics will collect coats during upcoming men’s and women’s Saluki basketball games, beginning with Thursday’s women’s basketball game against Chicago State.
