(IOCI RADIO) – More than one million people in Illinois have received the new COVID-19 Bivalent booster shot.
Vaccination rates have increased recently, as the latest booster protects against the most prevalent variant, omicron. Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Sameer Vohra recommended that everyone receive the shot, especially those with high-risk factors.
Vohra said kids ages five and up should receive the booster as well, in light of a rise in serious pediatric respiratory illness. The CDC rated 26 Illinois counties at an increased risk for Covid, including Saline as one of the highest.
