Benton High School Math Teacher Announced as September Teacher of the Month

MARION – The Regional Office of Education 21 recently announced September’s Teacher of the Month – Benton Consolidated High School District 103 math teacher Jeff Roper.

“We launched the Teacher of the Month initiative as a way to honor our teachers and to get the community engaged in recognizing the outstanding work they do,” Lorie LeQuatte, Regional Superintendent for District 21 said. “We thank all who submitted a nomination, and we encourage everyone in Johnson County to submit a nomination for the October Teacher of the Month.”

Each month, ROE #21 will recognize one outstanding educator and highlight his/her achievements. For the month of October, the nominations will be for teachers in Johnson County. That drawing will take place on Facebook live on Oct. 24 at the ROE 21 office in Williamson County.

To make a nomination, click here. All nominations must be submitted by Oct. 20. One individual’s name will be randomly drawn by a member of the Partnership Against Chronic Truancy Team (PACT).

The Regional Superintendent of Schools serves as the chief administrative officer of the Regional Office of Education providing essential support to local school districts in partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education. The Regional Office of Education District 21 is comprised of schools in Franklin, Williamson, Johnson, and Massac counties.
