Former Salem Wendy’s Employee Pleads Guilty to Armed Robbery of Restaurant in Plea Agreement

SALEM (WRXX) – A 40-year-old former employee of Wendy’s in Salem entered into a plea agreement Tuesday with the Marion County Court in connection with the October 2021 armed robbery of the restaurant.

Christina Lewis pleaded guilty to one count Class X felony armed robbery with a weapon in exchange for count Class X felony armed robbery with a firearm being dismissed.

Per the plea agreement, Lewis will face between 15 and 25 years in prison when sentenced November 18.

She admitted to carrying a weapon when she entered the office of the Wendy’s restaurant and demanding money.

Responding to a 9-1-1 call from the restaurant, a nearby Salem police officer arrived within one minute. Upon his arrival, the officer noticed a woman leaving a side door with a bag of money and a loaded pistol. Lewis was taken into custody at that time without incident.
