MT. VERNON (WRXX) – The City of Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County Emergency Management Agencies in conjunction with local hospitals and healthcare facilities will conduct a full-scale emergency response exercise Thursday, September 29.
According to a press release, throughout the morning citizens will see an increase of activity near and around the Crossroads Community Hospital campus until around noon.
The exercise is designed to test and train emergency responders, as well as the internal emergency operations plans of all participating agencies in the event a disaster occurs.
Officials asked to use caution around the area during the exercise.
