WEST CITY – The West City Police Department said unidentified human remains were found near a wooded area in the 900 block of West Washington Street Sunday.

According to West City Police, they received a call about the remains just after 7:30 Sunday morning.

Officers from the West City Police Department, Illinois State Police CSI, and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office responded and are investigating.
