White County Sheriff: Arrest Made in Sexual Exploitation of Child

WHITE COUNTY – The White County Sheriff’s Office Monday announced that an arrest has been made regarding sexual exploitation of a child.

According to White County Sheriff Randy Graves, the suspect, located in California, was charged with Coercion and Enticement – which is a minimum of 10 years to life in prison, Recipient of Child Pornography – which is a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years in prison and Possession of Child Pornography – a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Graves said in October of last year, the sheriff’s office received a call about sexual exploitation of a child, a resident of White County who received inappropriate messages on their phone.

The sheriff said the suspect knew the person they were talking to was a young child. The suspect interacted with the child in pornography manner.

After an investigation by the White County Sheriff’s Office, the Carmi Police Department and Homeland Security, the suspect was located in California.

The suspect’s name was not released.
