Mt. Vernon Man Arrested After Firing Shots Related to Disturbance

MT. VERNON (WRXX) – A 22-year-old Mt. Vernon man was arrested Tuesday night around 1:26 a.m.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance of the Mt. Vernon Police Department, they responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 500 block of Meadowbrook Rd in Mt. Vernon.

Officers arrived on scene and began the initial investigation. They discovered evidence at the scene and the State Police Crime Scene Unit responded to process it.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded and began their investigation. They learned the shots were fired in relation to a disturbance and no one was injured.

Later in the early afternoon, they identified the shooter as Aaron W. McCalla of Mt. Vernon.

He was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail on charges of Obstructing Justice and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. His bond is to be set by a judge in this felony case.
