MT. VERNON (WRXX) – A portion of Mt. Vernon lost power around noon Tuesday when a semi-truck reportedly caused damage that knocked out electricity to approximately 1,000 electric customers in the area.
Tri-County Electric Cooperative said the damaged equipment was located around North Davidson in Mt. Vernon.
They reported less than 100 of their electric customers lost power, while Ameren reported the outage affected around 900 of their customers.
Both providers quickly restored power to the area.
