Williamson County State’s Attorney Announces Improvements Made, Hirings

MARION – Williamson County State’s Attorney Marcy Cascio-Hale announced Monday that she has fulfilled one of her goals when she was recently sworn into office.

In a press release, Cascio-Hale mentioned her three goals – to seek justice for victims of crime, to improve the relationship between the State’s Attorney’s Office and law enforcement and to limit or eliminate the backlog that was a result of Covid.

Cascio-Hale said has filled the position of Domestic Violence Victim’s Advocate, which was unfilled for several months and the individual will work in tandem with the Survivor’s Center assisting with completion of Orders of Protection. She said the position will ensure that victims have access to the materials and information needed as they move through the court process. Additionally, the assistance assures that the court, court offices and judges can move these cases more effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, two other positions were filled: a Juvenile Advocate and a Discovery Clerk.

The Juvenile Advocate will work closely with the Juvenile State’s Attorney and Juvenile Coordinator, benefitting children and families who are part of the court system. The Discovery Clerk will work to collect materials and reports necessary for the prosecution of the criminal cases.
