MARION – Williamson County has its first woman State’s Attorney.
At Wednesday morning’s Williamson County Board meeting, the Board appointed Marcy Cascio-Hale as State’s Attorney, who will begin her new duties Monday.
The Williamson County Democratic Party announced Cascio-Hale as their replacement this week for Brandon Zanotti, who recently resigned as State’s Attorney following a recent DIU arrest. His last day is Friday. Zanotti became State’s Attorney in 2014 when he was chosen to fill the remaining two years of then State’s Attorney Chuck Garnatti’s term.
Cascio-Hale has 13 years of law experience and currently works for the Fifth District Appellate Court as a research attorney. She’ll serve the remainder of Zanotti’s term and will run for State’s Attorney in the November election.
Meanwhile, Ted Hampson was recently selected by Williamson County Republicans to be the Republican nominee for State’s Attorney in the November election.
