Public Comment Sought on Proposed Improvements to Illinois 37 in Benton

BENTON – The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold an open house-style public meeting Tuesday night to discuss proposed improvements to Illinois 37 from the north edge of Bonnie to Bond Street in Benton.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rend Lake College Events Center on North Ken Gray Parkway in Ina.

Officials said in a press release the meeting’s purpose is to present the preliminary project plans and obtain public input.

Handouts and display boards will be available for review, as well as information regarding engineering, land acquisition and environmental processes. Staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
