JOHNSON COUNTY – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on I-24 in Johnson County.

According to Illinois State Police, 47-year-old Kim S. Lamb of Lawrenceville, Georgia was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries after striking a trailer pulled by 50-year-old Gabriel Sparrow of Phoenix, Arizona.

Police said Lamb was driving her car east on I-24 at milepost 12 in the right lane as Sparrow was driving his semi with trailer next to Lamb in the left lane when Lamb lost control, left the roadway to the right and struck the face of a guardrail.

She then traveled across the right lane and struck the trailer being towed by Sparrow. Lamb’s car was partially lodged underneath Sparrow’s trailer. Sparrow was not injured.
