(IOCI RADIO) – Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed two bills Thursday to further protect survivors of sexual assault.
One new law clarifies that a person who knowingly gets drunk or high cannot give consent, the governor said.
The change was based on the case of an Illinois woman who was raped after drinking and was told the case likely wouldn’t be prosecuted as a result.
A second new law expands where survivors can access treatment and for how long.
