Friday Storm Knocks Out Power, Causes Damage Across Region

Friday morning’s storms across southern Illinois knocked down trees and power lines causing several thousand residents across the area to be without power.

Area crews were called out to begin the clean up and get the power back on.

According to National Weather Service reports, in Hamilton County, there was tree and shed damage. A window air unit was blown out.

In Franklin County, a pool was blown apart and a lawn mower was flipped over by wind.

In Perry County, two homes were damaged due to wind and/or trees falling on them. One home had a large tree limb through it.

In Jefferson County, some shingles were blown off roofs.
