(IOCI RADIO) – Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed two new laws Wednesday addressing children’s mental health.
One law creates the Children’s Mental Health Council, made up of experts from a variety of fields. Sen. Meg Loughran-Cappel of Shorewood discussed the measure at a press conference earlier this year, saying the group will tackle multiple issues.
Pritzker signed a second law requiring all youth in foster care to be assigned a mental health provided and given a well-being assessment.
