AARP Urging Seniors to Get Second COVID Booster Vaccine

(IOCI RADIO) – AARP and Illinois officials are urging seniors to get their second COVID-19 booster shot.

During a virtual discussion, state experts , including Illinois Department on Aging Director Paula Basta, said the second booster shot is recommended for those over age 50, those 12 and older with a compromised immune system, and anyone who originally received the single Johnson and Johnson shot.

The Illinois Department of Public Health said those interested should wait four months after receiving the previous booster.
