One Injured in Motorcycle-Involved Crash in Ava

AVA – One person was injured in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle Sunday afternoon in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and other emergency personnel responded to the crash scene on Highway 151/Keller Highway in the area of Redbird Road in rural Ava.

Officials said a car driven by 65-year-old Ronald Holder of Zeigler and a motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Zane Ward of Willisville were both traveling north on Highway 151/Keller Highway approaching Redbird Road when Ward attempted to pass Holder’s car while at the same time Holder began making a left turn onto Redbird Road.

Ward’s motorcycle struck the rear of the Holder’s car resulting in Ward losing control and being ejected from the motorcycle.

Ward sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Holder was not injured.

Ward was transported from the scene by ambulance for treatment at an area hospital.
