Williamson County Sheriff’s Office to Host Drug Take Back Day in Marion

MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for Saturday’s DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building in Marion.

The service is free and anonymous. The public can drop off potentially dangerous prescription medications at the collection site. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs, liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps.

In order to dispose of syringes and other sharps, they will need to be individually placed into our approved container. The sheriff’s office said they will not accept used sharps in a box, bag or used sharp containers. Illegal drugs will also not be accepted.
