Illinois Officials Not Considering Masks As COVID Cases Rise

(IOCI RADIO) – As COVID-19 cases slowly rise again, state public health officials said they aren’t pushing for another mask mandate yet.

At last count, Illinois is averaging more than 1,700 new cases per day, an increase over recent weeks. However, Illinois Department of Public Health Acting Director Dr. Amaal Tokars said at this point, they’re not talking about requiring masks again.

Four counties in southeastern Illinois – Saline, Gallatin, Pope and Hardin – are showing high levels of virus transmission.
