Illinois Lawmakers Pass Bill Naming State Snake Recommended by Williamson County Boy

(IOCI RADIO) – Illinois may soon have an official state snake.

An 11-year-old from Williamson County recommended naming the eastern milksnake to the list of state symbols, so Sen. Dave Fowler did his research.

Lawmakers approved the designation and all that’s needed now is the governor’s signature.
