The White County Emergency Management Agency is assessing damage today from yesterday’s storms that rolled through the area.
According to the White County Emergency Management Agency, lots of trees were reported down, several homes had shingles ripped off and some agricultural pole barns were blown down on farms.
The City of Carmi Yard Waste Site is open for residents to dispose of downed trees and limbs. Additionally, residents may stack limbs by the curb for pick-up by the City. The City of Carmi appreciates the cooperation of our community during the clean-up of storm damage.
In Franklin County, Emergency Management says damage was reported and assessed near Akin and rural Thompsonville. Some homes were affected, and a few barns/outbuildings were destroyed.
Emergency Management in Hamilton County reports no damage from the storms, but some minor flash flooding was reported that was taken care of quickly.
