CARBONDALE – Police in Carbondale are investigating a report of shots fired in the 500 block of South Poplar Street early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers arrived around 3:40 a.m. but found the suspects had already left the area.  

At about 9:20 a.m. officers returned to the area and learned one round had struck a home causing damage. No injuries were discovered as a result of the incident.
