Police Seeking Involved in Carbondale Shooting Sunday

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are looking for a suspect allegedly involved in a shooting in the 500 block of East Main Street Sunday afternoon.

According to police, when officers arrived just before 3 p.m., they found a gunshot victim and immediately began administering lifesaving aid. The Jackson County Ambulance Service responded and drove the victim to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  

During the course of the investigation, officers learned the suspect fired several shots at the victim and then fled south on foot between the buildings in the 500 block of East Main on the south side of the roadway.  

The suspect was described as a younger black male standing 5’10” tall, wearing a red or a maroon hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
