(IOCI RADIO) – Illinois House Republicans said Wednesday “it’s time to do something” about rising consumer prices.
The GOP has proposed relief measures such as suspending the sales tax on gas when inflation hits a certain level. But Rep. Patrick Windhorst of Metropolis said “unfortunately, those bills haven’t gotten anywhere.”
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has also offered ideas such as removing the 1% sales tax on groceries for one year, but Republicans say they don’t go far enough to provide real relief.
