Pritzker Urges Communities to Use Own COVID-19 Restrictions If Necessary

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IOCI RADIO) – Gov. JB Pritzker urged communities Tuesday to put their own COVID-19 restrictions in places if necessary.

With some area running out of ICU beds, the governor said local leaders may want to crack down even further than the state’s current indoor mask mandate. He pointed to a new vaccine requirement for entering certain businesses, taking effect in the Chicago area next week.

Every county in Illinois is currently rated at high-risk for transmission of the virus.
