CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police continue to investigate a weekend home invasion and battery that lead to the arrest of a Missouri man.

According to Carbondale Police, officers responded shortly after 11 Saturday morning to the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue in reference to a report of a battery.

Officers learned the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Zayivion D. Lewis of Mexico, MO, forced his way into a home and battered a juvenile victim. Officers located and arrested Lewis for Home Invasion.  

After conferring with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Lewis was released on a recognizance bond. The victim received a minor injury as a result of the incident.
