College-bound students in Illinois can now file one application for several universities throughout the state.
The Illinois Board of Higher Education is promoting a platform called Common App, where first-year students can now apply to the state’s 12 public universities and dozens of private ones, with one form.
Fee waivers for the service are available. Adding all the state’s universities to the system cost taxpayers $1 million.
High school seniors interested in nature conservation can apply for a $2,000 scholarship from the Illinois Conservation Foundation.
Applications are being accepted through March 1.
There are four scholarships available, but one of them is earmarked for a qualified dependent of an employee of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the department said.
