Carbondale Police Investigating Gunfire-Related Incidents, One Woman Injured

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police are investigating separate reports of gunfire-related incidents that occurred Thursday.

The first took place in the 500 block of South Beveridge that led to a woman being shot.

Police responded to the area and found the woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She was taken by an acquaintance to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation revealed the suspect fired multiple gunshots and then a silver four door car was seen fleeing the scene. The information learned indicates the incident involves known acquaintances.

Elsewhere, a second incident occured late Thursday night in the 100 block of North Washington Street.

Officers responded to the area and were then directed to the 200 block of North Marion Street where they located a vehicle that sustained damage as a result of bullet strikes. No known injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male with long braids.
