One Death, 30 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Southern Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported 2,137 new COVID-19 cases in Illinois, including 10 additional deaths. One death was reported among 30 new cases of coronavirus in southern Illinois by various health departments.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,323,170 cases, including 21,836 deaths.

Local case breakdown:

  • Jackson County: eight
  • Johnson County: three
  • Saline, Union and White counties: two each
  • Jefferson County: two (since 4/24)
  • Pope County: one, one death
  • Gallatin and Massac counties: one each

The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from April 19-25 is 4.1%.

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses for Illinois is 10,913,325. A total of 8,860,975 vaccines have been administered so far in Illinois. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 105,873 doses. On Sunday, 50,512 doses were reported administered in Illinois.
