COVID-19 Cases Total 31 Across Regional Health Depts.

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 2,765 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 28 additional deaths. Health departments in southern Illinois reported 31 cases of coronavirus across the region.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,309,552 cases, including 21,722 deaths.

Local case breakdown:

  • Williamson County: eight
  • Saline and Jackson counties: seven
  • Johnson County: three
  • White, Massac, Union, Pope, Hamilton and Franklin counties: one each

The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from April 14-20 is 4.4%.

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses for Illinois is 10,358,875. A total of 8,342,542 vaccines have been administered so far in Illinois. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 122,842 doses. On Tuesday, 140,712 doses were reported administered in Illinois.
