JACKSON COUNTY – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office released more details Monday involving a one-vehicle injury crash that happened Friday morning in rural Ava.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, 51-year-old Angela Brockmeyer of Campbell Hill was traveling north on Illinois 4 near Sato Road when her 2020 Ford Escape exited the south side of the roadway and collided with a guardrail end.
After the collision with the guardrail, the vehicle slid down an earth embankment before coming to rest. The vehicle sustained significant damage and was later towed from the scene.
Brockmeyer was the only person inside the vehicle. She sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene by Arch Air Services to a St. Louis area hospital for medical treatment.
The sheriff’s office said an investigate into the crash will continue.
