Illinois House Approves Sexting Education Bill

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois public school students would be taught about the dangers of sexting under legislation passed by the state House of Representatives.

The measure would apply to grades 6-12, and is “needed now more than ever,” according to State Rep. Maurice West of Rockford.

 

West said age appropriate lessons would be a part of current sex education curriculum, covering topics such as the consequences of sexting, related harassment and bullying.

The awaits state Senate approval.
