Carbondale Dog Parks to Receive $5K Grant for Drinking Fountains

CARBONDALE – The Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks will be presented with a grant check Monday afternoon at 2 at Parrish Park in Carbondale.

Ron Deedrick, Local Government Affairs Director representing the Egyptian Board of Realtors, will present a check for $5,000 to Jane Adams, President of Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks.

According to a release, the funds will be used for frost-free drinking fountains for dogs. The fountains are expected to be delivered in April and installed later this summer by the Carbondale Public Works Department.

With Illinois Tier 4 mitigations in place, a 50 person limit is in place for the participants leaving their cars.

Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks is a local non-profit 501(c)3 organization seeking to build Carbondale’s first public dog park for the Carbondale Park District, which will be located at Parrish Park.
