Road Work to Cause Lane Reductions on I-24 in Massac County

METROPOLIS – Road work on I-24 in Massac County will force lane reductions starting Monday, weather permitting.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, work will include various bridge repairs, patching resurfacing and new shoulders, guardrail, and pavement markings along the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 from the Johnson County line to the Ohio River at Metropolis.

IDOT advised motorists to reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution when traveling through the area. Work is expected to be completed Nov. 15, 2022.
